The world of beauty had, for the longest time, felt completely foreign to me. The thought of curling my virtually non-existent lashes, or waiting idly for my nail polish to dry, didn't appeal to me until my early twenties. I wouldn't call myself a beauty buff now, but I've definitely learned a few tricks in applying my style of natural looking makeup. Over the years I've accumulated a few staple beauty products, and I'd love to share them with you!
(Yves Saint Laurent La Laque Couture in Beige Leger, available here)
One of my recent favorites come from luxury fashion and beauty giants, YSL. Yves Saint Laurent La Laque Couture in Beige Leger is the perfect neutral shade. With two coats, the lacquer looks almost translucent and feels like Photoshop for my nails; with three, the rosy beige becomes opaque and supple. Compared to other high-end brands like Dior, D&G and Chanel, I think YSL has the superior formula because it's infused with Chil Rose Oil that strengthens and protects the nails from cracking. Most importantly, the formula dries quickly and applies evenly without streaking. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase more vibrant and dramatic shades for an instant touch of glamour.
What are some of your favorite brands and shades of nail lacquer? Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed my first of many beauty posts!
