Hi friends :) Last month, I approached my boyfriend with an idea: to explore a different spot in New York every week. I realized that even though I've lived in New York my entire life, I never took advantage of the city's vast offerings. Whether it's because I studied hard in high school, went to Boston for college, or interned full-time after graduation, I never took the time or effort to venture out. Now I'm happy to say that Doug and I are making the best of our weekends by going out on Saturdays and staying in to watch football (go Giants!) on Sundays. Here's a look from one of our dates:
Dress, Coat, Shoes: Zara
Watch: Michael Kors
Lipgloss: Dolce & Gabbana
I rarely wear a brand from head to toe, but it happens to be the case with this outfit. When Zara had its Summer Sale, I purchased the dress and coat with the intention of pairing them together. Once I decided upon the central pieces I selected the accessories: a color-block sandal, gold headband and watch, and structured tote. I chose a dark berry lip and rich cognac bag to add the colors necessary for an autumn transition. What I love about this outfit the most is its thematic element of horizontal lines. Did you notice it in the dress' gold buckle and orange accent, the bag's wooden magnet and the sandal's horizontal strap? I also have to give credit to my boyfriend—who claims to be a horrible photographer—for taking pictures that have good composition and movement, all within 25 frames!
The photo shoot in front of the court house was a spontaneous detour from our path. What Doug and I originally planned was to walk the Brooklyn Bridge for the first time. As expected, there was a bustling crowd of New Yorkers, tourists and street vendors on the bridge that day. The walk wasn't too strenuous, but the two-hour wait at Grimaldi's was taxing (but worth it!). And for those who are wondering, yes, I brought flat shoes :)
What do you think about the look? I hope you enjoyed this post and see you next week!
