Anyone who has met me knows that I love shoes — to the point where I could probably be on an episode of Hoarders. Come over and you'll find stilettos, wedges, pumps, flats, boots, etc., strewn about the house (to my mom's dismay). So, what fuels my passion?
Heels create more flattering proportions. As a shorty, I love how the extra three to five inches create the illusion of longer legs. I think proportions and fit are always more important than brands or trendiness.
Confidence! “Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world." I couldn't agree more, Miss Monroe.
I am currently enamored of shoes with studs and spikes. These fierce embellishments add edge to any outfit; call it the “ wow factor." Look below for three of my staple pieces this fall:
Sam Edelman (available here)
Zara (available here)
Aren't these magnificent? I bought the Sam Edelman Lorissa pumps on sale last summer for $89 (retail $99-$260) because the craftsmanship is incredible. Each stud, perfectly arranged along the suede material, adds to the story of glamour and elegance. However, be warned that the steep arch makes it difficult to walk! The next two pairs are both from Zara: the first from S/S 2012 and the second, F/W 2012. As I mentioned in my Fabulous Pink post, Zara is the only brand that entices me enough purchase shoes full-price. But can you blame me? I opted for a more practical heel-height this time because while it's nice to admire shoes, it's always better to wear them!
Here's a curated collection of Zara shoes, currently available online, I think would be great staple pieces for the fall/winter. Baroque embellishments, ox-blood hues and leather everything are popular this season:
